Smithville United Church

Hearing Loop
For those of you who have hearing aids, a donation for a member of our congregation allowed us to install a hearing loop system in April of 2014. For some a minor adjustment of the hearing aids is all that is needed to bring added enjoyment to our worship service or any other function taking place in the sanctuary. If you would like to know more about this, simply ask a member of the congregation who will be happy to answer your questions or direct you to someone who can help.

Fully Accessible
Smithville United is a fully accessible church. With our life, it allows those in wheelchairs or with mobility issues to access the sanctuary, our parlor, and offices, plus the Christian Education building. On Sundays, a member of the monthly House Group is there to assist you in getting to the location of the church of you want. We also have marked handicap drop off areas as well as marked parking spots.

Defibrillator
The generosity of another member of the congregation has made it possible for us to install a defibrillator. The unit is in a highly visible red case and signed. It is easy to use with audible instructions. It is centrally located in the hallway at the top of the stairs coming in through the vestibule; easily accessible to the sanctuary, choir room, parlor, offices, Christian Education building and even the parking lot. All emergency maps within the church indicate where the defibrillator is located.
